What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a noninvasive treatment in which a consultation is required prior to receiving this treatment. This treatment is administered through a handheld rolling device which has very small needles. This is then rolled over the treatment area.
How does it work?
Microneedling works by mimicking the skin’s natural healing process. The rolling device is used on the treatment area, so the needles will create very tiny punctures on the area. Through this, the skin will then mimic the natural healing process, creating more collagen and elastin. By doing so, you may possibly see a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, creases, scarring and acne. If there is a specific symptom that you would like to treat, please feel free to discuss this with us during your consultation here at LCS Medical Spa!
Am I a good candidate for microneedling?
You may be a good candidate for microneedling if you are looking to receive a noninvasive treatment which may induce natural results. On the other hand, it may not be a good idea to receive microneedling if you are 19 years old and younger. In addition, it may not be good to receive this if you have had an infection or severe scarring on the treatment area. If you believe that you have a condition which may prevent you from receiving microneedling, please feel free to discuss this with us during your consultation.
Are there any side effects?
There are a few side effects which may follow after receiving microneedling. Some of them may include but are not limited to redness, itching, dryness, tenderness, discomfort, and sensitivity to the sun may occur. If you are concerned with any of the side effects that you may be experiencing, feel free to contact us so that we may be able to do our best to ease your concerns.
What areas can be treated?
There are a wide variety of areas which may be treated with microneedling. Some of the areas may include the face, neck, hands, and inner thighs. If you are considering receiving microneedling in an area other than those mentioned, please discuss this with us during you consultation.
If you believe that microneedling is right for you and you live near San Antonio, Texas, then it may be a great idea for you to stop by LCS Medical Spa. Thank you so much, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
